Kavannaugh Confirmed

Written by: Austin Bostick    10-16-18

September 12 was when the first of three accusations made against Brett Kavanaugh. The first of these accusations was made by Christine Blasey Ford, she claimed that when she was 15 and Kavanaugh was 17 that he when they were at a party he had pinned her to a bed and covered her mouth to prevent her from screaming. She also claimed that Kavanaugh’s friend, Mark Judge, was also in the room and participated in the assault.

The second woman to come forward was Deborah Ramirez. She had stated that when she and Kavanaugh were freshmen in college they were playing a drinking game. She said that she was chosen to drink a lot and did eventually get drunk. After getting drunk she claims that a drunk Kavanaugh had put his genitals in her face and said “Kiss it” then he laughed and pulled up his pants.

The third and finale woman to have stepped up was Julie Swetnick. She had said that she saw Kavanaugh verbally abuse and inappropriately touch women several times at parties. She had also claimed to see Kavanaugh and other men lined up outside a bathroom where they were waiting for their turn with a girl.

Kavanaugh had denied all of these claims and an FBI investigation was done to see if any of these claims were true. No evidence was shown that the allegations were true and later on there was a vote held on Oct. 6 where Kavanaugh received a 50-48 vote, confirming him for the position.
