The St. Louis Blues hockey team is on the lookout for it’s first Stanley Cup this season, as they have never won it before; expectations are high!  They began their pre-season on September 18th, and have so far lost to the Texas Dallas Stars 3-5 and won to the Minnesota Wild 3-2. More games are rapidly following!  The Blues missed the playoffs by only one game last season, so people are eager to see what the outcome will be this year.

The main off-season acquisitions this year are Tyler Bozak, David Perron, Ryan O’Reilly, and Chad Johnson.  Young star Robby Fabbri will be returning from injury this season, as well. Unfortunately, Jake Allen, the team’s starting goalie, has been sidelined with the fact that he has back spasms.  However, Allen said he is feeling better and could start playing sooner.

For those that don’t know, the Blues play in the Central Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League, or NHL.  The Blues’ head coach, Mike Yeo, will be going into his second year as the main coach in February. Now, after being formed 51 years ago in 1967, the Blues are ready to win their first Stanley Cup!  Will it happen?
