10 Years Later: Trends of 2009

The year is 2009.  You are sitting in your living room, in front of a box television watching the screen closely as reruns of Phineas and Ferb are playing.  As you dip your mini tortilla chips into the salsa and cheese compartments of the Lunchables you begged your mom to buy for you, you remember you have homework to do: the horrific multiplication table. After spending the longest 10 minutes of your life completing your homework, you decide to play with your Go Go Pets.  As the electronic hamsters zoom across the kitchen floor, entering the house you made for them out of Bendaroos, you go to the kitchen for a drink. Vigorously removing the plastic from the yellow straw, you decide to sip on a capri sun.  Life is easy, life is good.

2009 was a year full of music, television, and, of course, the iPhone.  After researching all of the popular items ten years ago, I have awakened a formally hibernating feeling of nostalgia for my childhood favorites.  Of course, 2009 was a different experience for everyone, as is 2019, but nonetheless the charts do not lie.
