After only one field goal in the first half and a grand total of thirteen points in the latter half of the game, Super Bowl fifty three has come to an end along with the rest of the NFL season, and with the conclusion of the most watched game of the year, we can now take a moment to reflect on the events of the 2019 Postseason.
The Divisional Round went by rather quickly with the Rams trouncing the Cowboys, the Patriots trashing the Chargers, the Chiefs routing the Ravens, and the Saints edging it out over the Eagles.
The Conference games were massive nail biters for both the NFC and AFC. The American Conference of course sported a match between the Number one Chiefs and Number two Patriots. The Pats toppled the Chiefs from the top of the totem pole in Kansas City with a stunning 37-31 finish. Before the AFC game even took place, the New Orleans Saints played host to the Los Angeles Rams in one of the most exciting, and most controversial games in NFL History. The Rams won the battle at the Superdome by the score of 26-23 in overtime.
The Super Bowl brought a lot a of disappointment to fans of every aspect of the game. The commercials didn’t live up to the hype, the halftime show brought sadness to all those who expected a nod to the SpongeBob Song, “Sweet Victory” and the game itself had a combined score of sixteen points. This season ended with a fair amount of despair but the Patriots found a way to win yet another title to mark their 6th title under the Belichick-Brady Era. Congrats to the New England Patriots on another title.
