Farmington High School has recently revamped their school book fair, switching to a book fair service more appropriate and intriguing to the student body. This book fair service is known as “Follett.” Follett has been a book fair partner to pre-K and K-12 schools for more than 140 years. It is undeniable, when you walk into the FHS library, that the atmosphere in the library is exciting. In the spirit of Halloween, mock spider webs drape across the entire room. Skeletons, zombies, and books fill the rest of the library, and many students are loving the spooky ambiance. Whether the abundant amount of students within the library this past couple weeks is due to the library’s decor or the exciting new books, it is certain that both are intriguing. Librarian, Kristi Scott, when asked if she was happy with her decision to switch book fair services responded with, “I am definitely happy with it, and I think students and staff are happy as well.”

The book fair has now come to an end, but there will be more to come soon. Kristi Scott mentioned that she plans on using the Follett service again at FHS in upcoming years. Scott says she has undetermined ideas for another fair in the spring, as well. This was one of the best years yet for FHS bookworms. Scott says, “The sales have been better this year, and I definitely think the students have been more interested.” Overall, if you could not make it to see the book fair, you missed out and should be on the lookout for next one to come!
